A good fit if
You want a card-sized wallet for use with your phone, without a cable or battery to charge. You are comfortable checking payments on the phone’s screen.

The phone, the cards and the backup
Phone review, card signature
Check the transfer on your phone, then hold one card to it to sign.
Some phones read a card but can’t link backup cards. Find your model in Tangem’s scan guide.
Power and build
There is nothing to charge: the card draws power from the phone’s NFC during a scan.
The secure element is CC EAL6+ certified. That rates the chip, not the whole wallet.
Any one card can sign
Any linked card can sign; a three-card pack leaves two if you lose one.
Choose a recovery phrase before setup, if you want one. A seedless wallet can’t add one later.
Cards and setup paperwork
Both packs include the cards, a getting-started leaflet and a specifications sheet.
A compatible app is still needed
Transfers do not use Tangem’s servers, but the cards still need a compatible app.

Once, with every card at hand
Link every card before Finalize
Choose seedless or phrase-based setup, then finish linking every card before funding the wallet.
Link every intended card before choosing Finalize backup; the set cannot accept another afterwards.
Match the asset and network
Choose the exact asset and network; multiple accounts still belong to the same wallet.
With an existing recovery phrase
When importing a phrase, enter its exact passphrase in the Tangem app on your phone.

Each time you receive or pay
Choose the receiving account
Open the asset and network in the Tangem app, then copy the receiving address.
The card cannot display the address. Ask the sender to check their final entry against your original receiving details.
One card signs, the app sends
Check the final transfer on the phone, hold one card to sign, then follow its network status.
A finished scan isn’t arrival: follow the payment in the app history or a block explorer.

Keeping the app and backup in order
Keep cards apart and usable
Store the cards separately and decide whether each should be able to help reset a forgotten code.
Card firmware is fixed
The cards’ firmware is fixed; update the Tangem phone app through its official store.

Lost phone, lost card or forgotten code
Import needs a saved phrase
A remaining card already holds access; a saved phrase can restore into a new compatible set.
If every card is lost from a seedless wallet, there is no recovery phrase to restore access.
Needs two cards from the set
Reset it with that card and another working card from the same set, both with code recovery on.
A card with code recovery off can’t be reset, or help reset another card’s code.
Others work · no replacement
A usable remaining card still gives access, but a finalized set cannot accept a replacement.
You can’t block the missing card or add a replacement to the completed set.
The cards hold the keys
Install the Tangem app on a compatible phone, then scan a working card and enter its access code.
A Tangem Mobile Wallet is different: its keys are held on the phone, not on the cards.

Transfers do not use Tangem’s servers, but the cards still need a compatible app.
Tangem says an installed app is not deleted if app stores remove it. Its open-source code allows a replacement to be developed; that is not a promise of indefinite phone compatibility.

Receiving funds needs no card scan, though opening the app may require authentication. Choose the intended account before copying its address.
In the Tangem app
Step 1:Open Receive
Open the asset on the agreed network and choose Receive, or Add funds → Receive.
In the Tangem app
Step 2:Copy the receiving details

Step 3:Check the sender’s final entry
Ask them to compare their final pasted address, network and any memo with your original details before approving.
Select the matching asset and network, then compare the final pasted address and any memo with the Tangem app.
Ask the sender for a small test; confirm it is credited to the intended Tangem account before requesting the remainder. For your own withdrawal, send the test and wait for that credit yourself.

In the hardware-wallet route, choose Other options → Import wallet. Enter the words and any original passphrase in the phone app, tap Import and scan the first card. Then complete the backup using Tangem’s full procedure below.
Importing does not revoke an old or lost card. Tangem must support the asset, network and address type; a different account derivation path can hide an old account.

Reset it with that card and another working card from the same set, both with code recovery on.
A card with code recovery off can’t be reset, or help reset another card’s code.
Open the affected card’s access-code recovery route in the app. Set and confirm the new code before the reset’s alternating scans: affected card, second eligible card, then affected card again. Only the selected card’s code changes.
Changing another card’s code does not block the missing one. Move funds to fresh keys while a remaining card can still authorize.

You can’t block the missing card or add a replacement to the completed set.
Importing the phrase into empty compatible cards reaches the same wallet; it does not block the missing card. Use fresh keys if compromise is possible.
