Is it right for you?

Is this the right wallet for you?

A good fit if

You want physical buttons and a small screen for checking payments, without a battery to charge or maintain. Pure fits a routine with a USB power source always available.

Consider another model if

You want cable-free phone use or a larger touchscreen. Pure stays on USB power even with Bluetooth; compare Classic 1S for its battery, or Pro 2 and the original Pro for touchscreen controls.

Connect Pure to your phone or computer

Keep Pure connected to USB power throughout use. Reconnect an existing wallet as a hardware wallet; never enter recovery words to reconnect.

Connect an iPhone or Android phone

  1. On a phone, turn on Bluetooth and open OneKey App’s account-name menu. Choose Add wallet → Connect hardware wallet.
  2. Select the nearby Pure and follow the connection and device-authentication prompts. Pairing may not request a code; follow your firmware’s prompts.

On a computer, connect Pure by USB and choose Create wallet → Connect hardware wallet in OneKey App; this connects the device without creating new keys. Current app and firmware support Bluetooth on Windows and macOS, but a connected USB data cable takes priority. The browser extension uses USB through WebUSB. Linux Bluetooth remains unconfirmed.

If pairing fails, check Pure’s Bluetooth setting and the app’s phone permissions; Android also needs the documented location permission. Use the official platform-specific troubleshooting for persistent problems.

Choose General or BTC-Only before buying

General is Pure’s multi-asset edition. BTC-Only is supplied with Bitcoin-only firmware.

Choose the networks you need

Changing firmware does not convert or transfer coins. Keep the original network, account and optional passphrase information so you can find those accounts again.

In OneKey App’s Device Management, use the documented Switch to Universal procedure below. Enter recovery words only on Pure, reconnect afterward and check your expected accounts. An app display filter does not change the device firmware.

Create new keys and complete their backup

Create New Wallet generates new keys. Keep Pure powered through USB throughout setup.

To restore existing accounts on an uninitialized Pure, use Import Wallet instead.

Install OneKey App from its official download before connecting Pure to a computer.

  1. Connect Pure to USB power, turn it on and choose your language. Follow Create New Wallet and select the recovery-word count.
  2. Record and confirm the wordsWrite every word privately on paper, in order, then finish the device’s word-confirmation prompts. Do not photograph, upload or enter them into OneKey App.
  3. Set and confirm the PIN, which protects this device. Current Classic-series guidance specifies 6–9 digits; follow your firmware’s options.
  4. With the official OneKey App on a computer, connect Pure by USB. Choose Create wallet → Connect hardware wallet, select it and unlock it.
  5. Confirm the authentication request on Pure. Continue after Verification successful and wait for accounts. Reconnect an already-configured wallet rather than initializing it again.

Verify the complete receiving address on Pure

Check support for the exact asset, network and hardware task first. Non-Bitcoin networks need multi-asset firmware; an app listing alone does not prove support.

BTC-Only restricts this device to Bitcoin.

  1. In OneKey App, select the intended Pure account and network. Open Receive and choose an address type if offered.
  2. Compare the full addressIn OneKey App, select Verify on device. Compare the complete app address with Pure’s screen; confirm only if they match. Stop if they differ.
  3. Give the sender the verified address, exact network and any required memo or destination tag.

The receiving QR code shares an address; Pure does not sign by scanning it. For custom Ethereum-compatible networks, Pure may show EVM Address, a chain ID and derivation path. Do not proceed if you cannot establish the intended network.

Prepare in the app; review and approve on Pure

OneKey App prepares the payment; Pure’s screen and buttons let you review and approve it. Keep USB power attached.

Token spending permissions are different from payments. App warnings and newer firmware parsing do not make every request readable or replace your hardware-screen check.

OneKey Classic 1S Pure needs USB power throughout use, including while connected by Bluetooth.

App requirements

  • iOS 16.4 or later
  1. Choose the Pure account, asset and network in OneKey App.
  2. Choose Send. Enter the recipient, amount and any required memo or destination tag, then open Preview.
  3. Compare the full address, network and required memo or tag with receiving details; check sender, amount and fee. If correct, confirm in the app.
  4. On Pure, check destination and amount. Reject unexpected or unexplained requests; approve the intended payment with its buttons.
  5. After approval, the app sends the signed transaction.
  6. Check its status before trying again; signing does not confirm that funds arrived.

Check the phrase without erasing the wallet

Pure can compare your written phrase with its stored phrase without resetting. These steps apply to Classic firmware 3.20.0; keep USB power connected.

  1. On Pure, open Security → Check Recovery Phrase and continue. Enter the main device PIN when requested.
  2. Select your original 12-, 18- or 24-word count. Enter the words in their original order with Pure’s buttons, keeping them off the phone and computer.
  3. Read the result: matched, valid but different, or invalid.

A match verifies only the stored phrase. Reopen your funded account with the exact optional passphrase; the phrase check does not verify that access.

A phrase match does not establish replacement-wallet support for your backup, assets or networks. Older firmware menus may differ; do not update just to obtain this check before establishing usable recovery information.

Keep the exact passphrase for a hidden wallet

A passphrase opens separate accounts with your recovery phrase. Keep its exact spelling securely and separately before funding that wallet.

Recovery phrase
Restores the underlying wallet keys. A hidden wallet also needs its exact passphrase.
Device PIN
Unlocks Pure. The app password unlocks OneKey App; neither replaces recovery information.
Passphrase
Selects a separate wallet. Different spelling opens different accounts.
Bound hidden-wallet PIN
A shortcut to that hidden wallet on this device. It cannot replace the passphrase after recovery.

Enable Passphrase in Pure’s Security menu and use OneKey’s documented USB desktop route: select the device in the app → Edit → Add hidden wallet. Enter and confirm the passphrase in OneKey App, then check and confirm it on Pure. The limit is 50 characters from the specified ASCII set; the official guide gives those rules.

From firmware 3.14.0, Pure supports up to three hidden-wallet PIN bindings; the official Bind PIN guide carries the steps. If accounts appear empty, check the same passphrase, network and account. Third-party apps must support passphrases; an empty view does not prove lost funds.

Restore a wallet or preserve working access

To restore Pure, keep its complete recovery phrase and exact optional passphrase ready. A PIN or app balance cannot replace them; maintain USB power.

  1. On a new, uninitialized Pure, choose Import Wallet. Select the original word count and enter the words in order on the device, never in OneKey App.
  2. Review the word list, correct any reported error and complete the prompts to set a new device PIN.
  3. Connect to OneKey App. If you used a passphrase, enable the feature and enter the exact same passphrase, then reopen your original asset, network and account and check expected access.

For the passphrase step, follow the documented device/app entry route. Restoring keys does not move coins. If accounts are absent, check the passphrase and account selection before creating another wallet or transferring. Without a usable backup or another device that can approve, reinstalling the app cannot recreate the keys.

Stop guessing a forgotten PIN: current firmware resets after five consecutive wrong entries; older guides say ten. A hidden-wallet PIN does not replace the main PIN. Reset only with established recovery information, never to test a backup. Check Recovery Phrase needs its menu and the main PIN. The official reset guide covers old app pairing. Never send words or passphrases to support.

Update firmware after checking recovery information

Have the correct recovery phrase and exact optional passphrase ready before updating. Updating OneKey App and updating Pure’s firmware are separate operations.

Use the non-destructive phrase check if your current firmware offers it and you know the main device PIN.

  1. Connect Pure to your computer by USB. Use the current OneKey App.
  2. Open Device, select this wallet and choose Check for updates.
  3. Confirm on PureIn OneKey App, select Update, then read the prompts and confirm on Pure. Keep USB connected until it finishes.

If the firmware update stalls at 90–95% and restarts, use the official computer firmware-website route below. Let the tool detect Pure; do not select files by a similar model name. If that fails too, contact OneKey with the model and error, never recovery words. Do not reset to clear an update error.

Check USB power before troubleshooting startup

A dark screen and a startup error need different checks. Pure has no battery; battery-model charging and storage advice does not apply.

  • USB powerCheck the USB power source and cable. If the screen stays dark with power connected, check device detection next.
  • Device detected?First connect or pair Pure as a hardware wallet in OneKey App, using computer USB data or phone Bluetooth with USB power. If detected but dark, use support’s route; if undetected, ask for further checks.
  • Startup error?Record the exact error and model. The official guide covers its firmware-update route; an app balance does not prove Pure can approve.
