Ledger StaxOn iPhone, transactions use Bluetooth. Some cryptocurrencies require a separate wallet app.

Ledger FlexiPhone connects by Bluetooth. Android connects by USB or Bluetooth. NFC does not replace USB or Bluetooth for ordinary transactions. Cryptocurrency support depends on the app.
